What is “Certified International E-Teacher” (CIET)?  

CIETCourse is the first ever instructor-lead training program conducted entirely online for teachers or trainers who want to transform their teaching or training capabilities into an online expertise and become e-teachers. What are the requirements for doing the CIET program?

Firstly you should have been using computer & internet on a daily basis for at least one year with reasonable working knowledge of MS office programs like Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Very broadly, to do the CIET program you must be equipped with a modern computer or Laptop with minimum 256 MB Ram & 40 GB Hard disc space though more is preferred. It should be connected with a configured Headset, Microphone & Webcam ready for use and a broadband Internet connection.Basically with these on board you are ready to start. What are the scholarships available for doing the CIETprogram?

From time to time ICPI announces scholarships which are sometime a means scholarship or entirely based on the performance in an online admission test. Free online admission test mandatory for anyone wanting to do the CIET program. Presently there are number of Merit Scholarships available to go through this course. Generally how many people can do the course at a time?

Since all our courses are done online live with real instructors presently the upper limit of trainees is just 5 per course where as minimum is just 1. Irrespective of the numbers being present in any course we press on with the program on the appointed date & time-band as shown in the CIET Course Calendar.

 

How do I register & pay for the CIET course?

The process of registration and payment for CIET Program is entirely online. Course applicants must register minimum 10 days before the actual date of the commencement of any course. Rest is a very simple just follow the

What happens on completion of registration?

Once you complete the online Registration form and click SUBMIT you are transferred to a secure page where you have the option to make online payment either through our preferred payment partner PayPal or through a credit card. On completion of payment you will see confirmation of transaction, course no, date & time band. You will also receive email from PayPal for the payment transaction. This will be followed reconfirmation of course No/dates/time-band & course joining instructions through email. In additions, we will invite you to meet us for half an hour sessions on Skype which will help to test functionality of your equipment including system, headset, microphone, web-cam & broadband connection etc. Here you may freely discuss any issues that you consider important for doing the CIET program.

 

How do I enter the virtual class?

Entry to the virtual classroom is through clicking a link which you will receive in email. Once you click the link you immediately reach the ICPI-Train2Teach-Online virtual classroom and the process is easy & automatic. Simultaneously as a standby measure all class participants also remain logged into Skype for the duration of the class to cover any communication gaps that may sometime temporarily occur.  

 

When is the best time to do the CIET Program?

Are the fees given above cover everything or are there some additional things to be purchased?
No there are no other charges and the CIET Course Standard fees for are full and final and there are no other hidden charges.

 

Can I register for the CIET course from anywhere in the world?

Since it’s an online registration process hence you can register from anywhere in the world.

 

Can I do the course from anywhere in the world or I have to physically go to a given location?

No you don’t have to travel to any location to do the CIET course. CIET program can be done from you’re your own home or anywhere in the world provided you have a computer or laptop connected with a broadband internet connection because the CIET program is done online LIVE online with real instructors from any location in the world

 

What is the difference between GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) or UTC (Universal Time Coordinated)?

GMT or UTC time mean the same thing. If you see any anywhere GMT +3 Hours - It also means UTC +3 Hours. By the way Greenwich is a town close to London to which this time relates to hence the name GMT or “Greenwich Mean Time”. Assuming the GMT at this moment is 6 am then it means UTC time is also 6 am hence it means one and the same thing. Normally London time is taken as GMT / UTC time. More importantly GMT or UTC is the standard time common to every place in the world which can be applied to all places on earth to arrive at the local time provided we know the time difference between that country and GMT. Now-a-days it is also widely known as international time.

 

Why I need to know anything about GMT or UTC times?

At Train2Teach-Online our course timings here are in GMT / UTC times hence to do the CIET course you will have to select to select a time-band which is in GMT time and to know the exact time in your country in relation to GMT you will have to know the difference of time between GMT & your country or location to arrive at the local time in your country. Moreover, in Online teaching you will be asked to teach in various time zone around the world hence you will have to always check out whether the time suits you or not.

 

How to find the time difference between my country or location in relation to GMT or UTC?

Normally most people know the time difference between the GMT/UTC and their location or country which is generally shown as UTC or GMT +3 Hrs / -5 Hrs / +4:30 hrs. If you know the time difference between your country and GMT then its simple you add or subtract +3 Hrs or -5 Hrs to the GMT/UTC time and you get the time in your location. How long does it take to complete the CIET course?

CIET is a 50 hours course completed in 9 days with 3 hour Instructor-lead live sessions daily for 6 +3 days The sessions for the course are conducted in 3 hour GMT/UTC time-bands daily for 6 + 3 = 9 days at a stretch from Monday to Saturday = 6 Days > Sunday Holiday > Monday to Wednesday = 3 Days > Total 9 Days. How do I fix up the dates & time for CIET course?

There is no need for you to fix date or time for CIET courses since they are already fixed and published in CIET Course Calendar 6 months ahead of time. So all you do is to select suitable date & related time-bands by clicking on CIET Course Calendar

 

What is a time-band in “Certified International E-Teacher” (CIET)?

How do I receive lesson materials?

All lesson materials are electronic and in the digital format. Modular lesson materials are first gone through & discussed in the online class & then delivered through emails as attachments or online PDF or links on our website or third party websites wherein the prospects practice the lessons online on their own.

 

Are there any tests and how are they conducted?

Yes there are many short and long online tests conducted for various modules which after submission automatically reach course instructor for evaluation.

 

Is there any other way I can take this course?
No you cannot do this course in any other way except as described in the FAQs here or in the Guide that is in the online mode only.

What will be my capabilities after I complete the CIET course?
Upon successful completion of this course as “Certified International E-Teacher” or (CIET)” you will become an independent e-teacher or e-trainer capable of e-researching and preparing your own online content or lessons electronically and confidently deliver it to a class on the internet with a learning outcome approximating a real classroom. Now armed with this capability to teach or train “Anyone”, “Anytime”, “Anywhere” in the world. You can launch yourself as an international e-trainer, e-teacher, e-coach, e-tutor or a mentor without even stepping out of your room.
